General Information:

Anyone electing to use the Transfer Station must have a permit. Each permit holder will be issued a sticker for his or her automobile, which should be clearly displayed behind the rear- view mirror in the permit holders car visible to the attendant. Additional car sticker for multi-vehicle households may be purchased for $10.00.

2008 Rates

HOUSEHOLD GARBAGE MUST BE BAGGED
Annual Recycling Permit $45.00 (Proof of East Greenbush Residency Required)
Sr. Citizen Permit (62 yrs. old) $20.00 (Proof of East Greenbush Resident Required)
Punch Cards   $50.00 each (each card allows 52, 30 gal. bags)

  • (Additional Punch Cards can be purchased as needed throughout the year at the above price.)
  • Vehicle Stickers A single vehicle sticker will be given to the Permit holder upon purchase of such Permit.

Anyone electing to use the Transfer Station must have a Permit. Each Permit holder will be issued a sticker for his car and should be placed behind the rear-view mirror so it is clearly visible to the attendant. Additional car stickers for multi-vehicle households can be purchased for $10.00.

In addition to a Permit ($45), a Punch Card ($50) will need to be purchased to avoid a fee each time you use the facility. The Punch Card will be “punched” by the attendant depending on the amount of bags you have. The number of “punches” on the card is at the discretion of the attendant. Each Punch Card allows 52, 30 gallons bags to be disposed of.  If you forget your Punch Card, you will be charged $1.00 per bag. 

If there are any remaining “punches” on the Punch Card at the end of the year, you will be able to use your remaining punches when you purchase the next annual Permit.
  • No refunds will be granted to anyone who purchases a Permit regardless of the time of year or
  • Circumstances surrounding such refund request.

  • Rugs/Carpets $7.00  
  • Sinks/Toilets  $7.00
  • Sm. Household Appl. $7.00 (includes toaster ovens, microwaves, etc.)
  • Television Sets $7.00  
  • Wood Furniture $12.00
Refrigerators and air conditioners still charged with Freon will be charged an additional fee of $15.00.

Household construction/demolition debris will be charged $10.00 per 30-gallon container. All debris must fit into a barrel not containing any of the items specifically excluded on the list below:

Bagged brush, leaves, and grass clippings are FREE to residents with a permit and must be in brown, recyclable bags.  Tree limbs must be no more than four (4”) inches in diameter. No tree stumps are permitted.

Absolutely No commercially owned landscaping businesses allowed to dump.

  • Paint
  • Radioactive Waste
  • Roof Shingles
  • Other items deemed dangerous or otherwise not acceptable by the facility attendant.
We will be having a Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day - TBA 

No scavenging or “picking” will be allowed on the Transfer Station premises. Violation of Transfer Station Policies will result in the permit holder being subject to penalties under Town Law.

  • Tue, Wed, Fri - 8:30 AM-4:55 PM
  • Thursday - 8:30 AM-6:55 PM
  • Saturday - 8:00 AM-4:25 PM
