This office prepares all water and sewer bills for customers in the General and Hampton Manor Water Districts, and the General, Couse, and Third Avenue Sewer Districts. In addition, the office is a central location for all issues relating to water and sewer services i.e. permit issuance, installation and repair appointments, and emergency calls during regular business hours. If you have a water or sewer emergency during NON business hours, you should call the Town Police at 479-1212, and they will initiate a call out to your location. The billing schedule is as follows:

Hampton Manor Water: January and July
General Water: May and November
All Sewer Districts: February and August

Every spring and fall, the town flushes the water mains to remove sediment build up. Schedules of this flushing are printed in the Times Union, The Advertiser and The Independent newspapers. Please watch for these notices so you can be prepared at your home or business for the temporary service interruptions that may occur. Currently, the Water Department is in the process of upgrading all meters to radio signal devices. If we have not already been to your neighborhood to do this upgrade, we will shortly. This equipment has made a significant difference in the efficiency of our billing operations thus far and we are excited about completing the installations.
Hydrant Flushing:

Town hydrants are flushed during the latter parts of April and October. For a schedule of a particular area to be flushed, dates will be published in the local newspapers. For more information please call: 477-9367, or the Department for Public Works at 477-6103. For emergencies during NON business hours, call the town Police at 479-1212.
