The Parks Task Force is a volunteer committee that concentrates on revamping and revitalizing the town's parks. This committee meets on an as needed basis.  Individuals involved in this task force will be involved in planning and participating in events such as, Adopt A Park and Saturday in The Park. This task force may also conduct fund raising activities and offers recommendations regarding the allocation of funds between the town's various parks.

Traffic Safety Committee PDF Print E-mail

*The Traffic Safety Committee has been temporarily suspended. This will be addressed by the Town Board for reinstatement after March 1, 2010. 

The East Greenbush Traffic Safety Committee was formed on November 13, 2002 when the Town Board passed a resolution proposed by Coucilperson Dean Kennedy forming the committee. The committee was created to act as an advisory committe of town resident volunteers who would be assisted with relevant input from town department liasons, in making non-binding recommendations to the Town Board regarding traffic safety isssues involving potential traffic safety implications of proposed new projects in town or situations reported by residents' complaints .

The Public  Meetings are normally held on the 4th Wednesday each month, starting at 7:00pm.  Residents are encouraged to attend these meetings which are held at the Town Hall. We are always looking for Town Residents who may wish to volunteer their time and serve on this committee when we have openings for new members.  No previous Traffic Safety experience is required. Residents are encouraged to submit their letter of intent to Councilperson Dean Kennedy, East Greenbush Town Hall, 225 Columbia Turnpike, Rensselaer, NY 12144.

Youth Commission PDF Print E-mail

Individuals involved in this commission are dedicated to creating and participating in programs that benefit the youth of East Greenbush. Youth Commission meetings are scheduled once a month, but may meet more during the spring and summer months. This commission co-sponsor's many of the town's events such as the Spotlight On Youth program, which is a program that identifies outstanding young citizens in the town. The commission also is responsible for interviewing young adults for summer employment. Finally, the commission is responsible for offering recommendations to the Town Board regarding the allocation of funds between the town's various youth programs.
