Individuals involved in this commission are dedicated to creating and participating in programs that benefit the youth of East Greenbush. Youth Commission meetings are scheduled once a month, but may meet more during the spring and summer months. This commission co-sponsor's many of the town's events such as the Spotlight On Youth program, which is a program that identifies outstanding young citizens in the town. The commission also is responsible for interviewing young adults for summer employment. Finally, the commission is responsible for determining the allocation of funds between the town's various programs.

History of East Greenbush

The history of the Town of East Greenbush dates back to 1628 when historians believe the first settlers arrived in the area. Today, East Greenbush has retained its small-town roots, while also serving as an important suburb of the City of Albany and home to many retail, corporate, and manufacturing businesses.
